Hiring: Sales Assistant

Role Overview:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Sales Assistant to join our team. You’ll be helping customers to find what they need from our great range of quality second hand furniture, while ensuring the shop looks top-notch. If you have a passion for helping people, furniture and vintage finds, we want to meet you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement: Greet visitors, help them find items that would suit their needs, share the history of unique pieces, and provide styling advice to help customers envision items in their homes.

  • Visual Merchandising: Assisting with arranging furniture and decor to create inspiring displays; keep the floor tidy and accessible.

  • Stock Management: Assist with tagging new arrivals, cleaning/polishing items for the floor, and identifying minor repair needs.

  • Physical Assistance: Help customers load items into vehicles and assist the team with moving furniture within the shop.

Requirements:

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable vibe.

  • Stamina: Ability to stay on your feet and comfortably lift/move furniture.

  • Eye for Detail: An interest in furniture, interior design, antiques, or upcycling is a major plus.

  • Reliability: Punctual, honest, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Education:Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent is required.

Salary & Working Hours:

  • Monthly Salary: To be discussed on receipt of CV

  • Total Hours: 40 hours per week + 2x 4 hour shifts on Saturdays per month

  • Shift Patterns:

    • Monday - Friday: 09:00 - 17:00 

    • Saturdays: 09:00 - 13:00 (2x per month)
